Outline object larger than screen

Unity selection outline has one very convenient feature: if the selected object is somehow larger than scene viewport, then the screen border are highlighted.

I find it very useful for indicating there is an object currently selected, even when the camera is too close.

Can we achieve something similar with ALINE?


This is currently not possible to achieve with ALINE. Unity’s effect relies on a screen post-processing pass which is very different from how ALINE currently draws things.
