Why is the NavmeshCut component in the new version of the plug-in no longer available in older versions of Unity, while the 5.0 NavmeshCut can still be used in Unity2021?
I’d like to know what issue in Unity 2021 is causing the NavmeshCut component to stop working. In version 5.0 of the plugin, my NavmeshCut component worked fine, but after upgrading to 5.4.4, it no longer works, which is really frustrating for me.
Some significant performance improvements required the usage of features that are only available in newer versions of Unity, I’m afraid. Or rather, those features existed in earlier versions of Unity, but they were buggy and caused hard crashes iirc.
Thanks for your answer. Could you provide a version of NavmeshCut that supports Unity2021? Or can I try to roll back NavmeshCut to a version that supports Unity2021? And can this crash be reproduced in the editor?
You can downgrade to an older version of the package. You can find older versions here: A* Pathfinding Project
But I’ll not be backporting the NavmeshCut to support 2021 as it’s quite tricky to do while keeping the newer features. 2021 is pretty old at this point.
Okay, I understand. My current approach is to abandon the plugin upgrade and merge the related issues (Bust version issues) into my project. Thank you for your reply!
