I am using Behaviour Designer Movement pack with the A* add on. I have set a capsule collider to flee from a predator, but it is flying up into the sky? Is there any way I can get it to actually follow the navmesh?

Try messing with the gravity settings on the movement script that’s attached to your AI. That fixed it for me!
